I feel like the server has been more laggy recently. Considerably more in fact. Alot of complaints about it in chat. I think we should talk with the server hosts if it isn't too hard to do so.

Plot twist: I see 4 white boxes in the top right of my game. This is a new thing that indicates packet loss. EA is messing with us.

Dear Customer,

Ticket HDV-897SV has been updated by Don Tellefsen [staff].

Hi Mike,

Please give this server a test run now. The machine that hosts this server was rebooted in an effort to clear the air a bit.

That said, this issue may be an unintended bug introduced by the last patch. I do know DICE may have a patch release this week which may help with the issue.

In any event, please give the server a test run and let us know if the physical machine reboot that was issued had any effect.

Yeah it was a very rough Paracel Storm, abit frustrating to see players who come to the server only to talk about how bad the rubber banding is

heres what doesnt make sense... I purposefully played on other servers tonight and experienced ZERO issues at exactly the same time you guys had issues on the BK server. I skeptical now...

Seems to only happen on large air maps, i am sure its something to do with DICE's last patch.

Was on the BK server last night and Railway was almost unplayable and we switched to Zavod and while it was better, there was still some intermittent rubber banding. Hopefully we can get this sorted out soon. It is painful to watch the chat roll by and almost every item is a complaint about the server.

Latest patch for sure. Some servers have audio bugs as well now.

Read their answer first then my reply (so scroll down and read the second part first) .....

I have a few issues with this.  First, won't that still reset our server rankings on GameTracker?  It sure did last time our server crapped out and you guys had to move it.  And it stops our server from being there in people's "favorites" just like it did last time (our old server is still up by the way).  Then on top of all that we now have a procon Layer tied to this server with numerous intricate plug ins that took dozens of man hours (my hours) to set up and configure.  And to top it off we have a SQL database tied to the server that our procon layer plugins feed data into.

So will all of this stay unaffected?  I can't say that I would be too pleased with losing all that hard work, losing the rankings our server has obtained, losing the thousands who have favorited it, and everything else we've achieved on this server for a SECOND time now since release half a year ago.  I can honestly say that our members, our visitors, and I are all getting very frustrated with all of this.  My people (who foot the majority of this hefty server bill) are already screaming to change hosts as this is the second time now.

Michael,

Unfortunately, the only option we have available is to move the subscription to an alternate machine/IP.  The machine itself appears to be operating normally and is showing no signs of distress.  This is not to say the machine is not malfunctioning in some manner.  We often hold this option as the last resort but in scenarios like this it is valid.  We would also be able to migrate your current configuration files, including those responsible for battlelog links, client history and favorites list entries.

Thanks for the update. It seems if we are able to keep all our files, statistics and honestly prob most important... users keeping us in their favorites... may be worth the switch.

Question, what is the impact, what negatives... if they seem to keep what we need? Of course any db attached to it would need some IP changes, but what else?

The option to switch could be worth it since they can also migrate all the configuration files, but as i mentioned earlier i really don't think it will make a difference. This issue is from DICE's last patch.

...while it is a possibility, saying the problem is DICE's is not entirely true. I can go on every single map that our server has lag issues on, on different servers and play without lag.

Each server could be a different host with better gear or they handle the updates better. We cant just say its DICE's fault when the game works fine elsewhere.

If so we need to find out which game host's they use then if we do decide to switch.
